Which embroidery position suits a logo, name or text?

Every product has its own embroidery areas for each view — front, back, left and right. Which ones and how large they are depends on the product; the Real View Customizer always shows you the actual area while you design.

Embroidery positions of the products on this page, their maximum embroidery area and what they are particularly suitable for
Embroidery position Maximum embroidery area Particularly suitable for
Left chest up to 150 × 150 mm Company logo, club crest, name
Right chest up to 150 × 150 mm Second logo, job title or department
Center chest up to 270 × 270 mm Lettering, larger design
Left arm up to 110 × 110 mm Small emblem, year
Right arm up to 110 × 110 mm Small emblem, partner logo
Back up to 270 × 270 mm Large logo, club name, back number

The sizes show the largest embroidery area of the products on this page. The Real View Customizer shows you which embroidery areas your product has and exactly how large they are.

Embroidery tip: The largest possible area is not automatically the best size. Legibility and proportion are what matter. In our experience a classic chest logo already looks balanced at about 70 to 100 mm wide, elongated company logos at about 100 to 130 mm depending on the design. There is a hard lower limit only for lettering: letters under 5 mm high can no longer be rendered cleanly in thread — so the Real View Customizer does not allow them.

I had a really good experience getting my name printed on my chef jacket. The work was done very quickly and the quality is excellent. He speaks English, which made communication easy, and he was very friendly and pleasant to talk to. The stitching came out clean and professional, exactly how I wanted it. Overall, a very skilled and reliable person—I would definitely recommend him.

Frequently asked

Questions about custom embroidered T-Shirts

Can I get T-shirts embroidered from just 1 piece?

Yes. Custom embroidered T-shirts can be ordered as individual pieces as well as in larger quantities for companies, clubs and teams.

Can I get a T-shirt embroidered with my company logo?

Yes. Your company logo can be used as the basis for custom T-shirt embroidery. Depending on the selected T-shirt, different embroidery positions may be available. The design is technically reviewed before production.

Can I personalize T-shirts with names?

Yes. Names, initials, monograms, job titles and short lettering can be individually embroidered depending on the customization options available for the selected T-shirt.

Can I order T-shirts with the same logo and different names?

Yes. You can combine the same company or club logo with different employee names, functions and sizes. Each personalized version can be configured individually and added to the shopping cart.

What designs can I get embroidered on a T-shirt?

Company logos, club logos, names, initials, monograms, short lettering and many custom graphic designs can be suitable for embroidery. Very fine details or small lettering may require technical adjustments depending on the design size.

Where can a T-shirt be embroidered?

Available embroidery positions depend on the selected T-shirt. Depending on the product, options may include the chest, sleeve or back. The currently available positions are displayed directly in the online configurator.

Can I upload my own logo?

Yes. Depending on the current configurator, different file formats can be uploaded as the basis for your design. The uploaded file is initially used for the design preview and preparation. It is then professionally digitized for embroidery production.

Is my image file already a machine embroidery file?

No. A JPG, PNG or vector file does not automatically contain the stitch information required by an embroidery machine. The artwork must first be digitized into a suitable embroidery file with appropriate stitch types, density, underlay and color sequence.

Can I use an existing embroidery file?

Existing machine embroidery files are not used without technical review. You can submit an existing file for checking so that stitch structure, size, position and material compatibility can be assessed for the desired T-shirt.

Can I use my logo again for future T-shirt orders?

A logo embroidery file created by us can be retained for future orders. If the T-shirt, material, embroidery position or design size changes, the file may need to be reviewed or adjusted before reuse.

Is embroidery better than T-shirt printing?

It depends on the artwork and the desired result. Embroidery is particularly suitable for logos, names, initials and compact lettering and creates a tactile textile surface. Very large solid areas, photographs and gradients may be better suited to an appropriate printing method.

Are embroidered T-shirts suitable as company clothing?

Yes. Embroidered T-shirts can be used for companies, retail, customer service, hospitality, beauty businesses, practices, reception, events and many other professional environments. Suitability for specific workplace requirements depends on the individual application and applicable regulations.

Are embroidered T-shirts suitable for clubs and sports teams?

Yes. Club logos, team names, individual names and initials can be combined into a coordinated design. This makes embroidered T-shirts suitable for both smaller groups and larger teams.

How large should a logo be on a T-shirt?

The ideal size depends on the artwork, embroidery position, T-shirt size and level of detail. A logo does not necessarily look better simply because it is larger. Balanced proportions, clear contours and appropriate spacing are important for a professional result.

Can small lettering be embroidered on T-shirts?

This depends on the font, letter height, stroke width and available space. Very small or tightly spaced lettering can lose clarity during embroidery. Every new design is therefore reviewed before production.

Can detailed logos be embroidered on T-shirts?

Many detailed designs can be embroidered if the available size and embroidery area provide sufficient space. Very fine lines, small internal spaces or gradients may require technical adaptation, reinforcement or simplification.

Can I order one personalized T-shirt as a gift?

Yes. A T-shirt with a name, initials, monogram, date or personal design can be ordered as an individual piece and makes a personalized gift for many occasions.

Can I reorder individual T-shirts for new employees?

Yes. Individual additions can be ordered later. If an existing logo embroidery file is used, we check whether it remains suitable for the selected T-shirt, embroidery position and design size.

How should I care for an embroidered T-shirt?

Exact care instructions depend on the selected T-shirt and are stated on its care label. In general, unnecessary friction against the embroidery should be avoided and the embroidery should not be exposed to direct high heat when ironing.

How long does it take to produce embroidered T-shirts?

Processing time depends on factors such as the selected T-shirt, design, order quantity and individual requirements. The applicable processing and delivery information is shown during the ordering process. Larger or technically complex orders may require additional time.

Where can I get T-shirts embroidered online?

At Stickerei.com, you can select T-shirts online and customize them with a logo, name, text or your own design. The available customization options are displayed directly in the online configurator.

Personalize T-Shirts With Names

Names, job titles, initials or departments can be added alongside a company or club logo. This creates a consistent team appearance while making each T-shirt personally identifiable.

Embroidered T-Shirts for Teams and Clubs

Club logos, team names, player names and personal initials can be combined into one coordinated design. Individual additions for new team members can also be ordered later.

Get T-Shirts Embroidered From 1 Piece

You do not need a large minimum order. A single personalized T-shirt can be created just as easily as a larger company, club or team order.

Why Get T-Shirts Embroidered?

An embroidered T-shirt has a different look and feel from a standard printed shirt. The design is created with embroidery thread directly on the textile, producing a tactile surface with visible structure. This makes embroidery particularly suitable for logos, names, initials, monograms and compact lettering.

Professional embroidery is about more than simply choosing a thread color. Design size, stitch density, stitch direction, underlay, line thickness and placement all influence the final result. A high-quality embroidered T-shirt therefore depends on the combination of the artwork, professional digitization and appropriate production settings.

Embroidery for a Premium Textile Look and Feel

Embroidery gives a T-shirt a distinctive textile finish with a raised, tactile appearance. Instead of simply applying a graphic to the surface, the design is created with embroidery thread and integrated into the garment.

This makes embroidery particularly attractive for company logos, names and short lettering where a professional textile finish is desired. The final appearance always depends on the artwork, embroidery size, T-shirt, position and technical setup.

What Makes a High-Quality T-Shirt Embroidery?

  • The design needs to fit the available embroidery area.
  • Letters and fine lines require sufficient size and stroke width.
  • Stitch density and underlay should match the selected textile.
  • Thread and T-shirt colors should provide sufficient contrast.
  • The embroidery position should suit the design and T-shirt cut.
  • Very detailed artwork may require technical adjustments for clean reproduction.

From our embroidery practice: A premium embroidery design does not need to be as large as possible. A clearly structured logo with balanced proportions often looks more professional than an oversized design with excessive stitch density.

Get T-Shirts Embroidered With a Logo for Your Business

Custom T-shirts with company logos are one of the most versatile ways to create visible and consistent corporate clothing. Depending on the desired appearance, the logo can be positioned discreetly on the chest, added to a sleeve or placed more prominently on the back.

Companies can also combine their logo with employee names. This creates a consistent brand appearance while adding personal identification. In customer-facing environments, a name or job title can also make personal interaction easier.

Design T-Shirts for Companies, Employees and Teams

Matching company T-shirts create a recognizable team appearance while allowing each garment to be personalized. The company logo can remain consistent across all shirts, while names, job titles, departments and sizes can be customized individually.

How to Create a Consistent Team Look

Use a Common Company or Club Logo

The main logo provides the shared visual identity for the entire group. This creates a consistent appearance regardless of the number of T-shirts ordered.

Add Individual Names

Employee names, functions or initials can be added to the common design. This combines professional branding with personal identification.

Choose Individual Sizes

Team members do not necessarily need the same T-shirt size. Each individual version can be configured according to the required size and available product options.

Plan for Future Additions

When new employees or team members join, individual T-shirts can be ordered later using the same basic design, provided the product and embroidery setup remain compatible.

Embroidered T-Shirts for Clubs, Sports Teams and Groups

Embroidered T-shirts are an effective way for clubs and teams to create a recognizable group identity. Club logos, team names, initials and individual names can be combined into a coordinated design that remains personal for each member.

Personalized T-shirts are also suitable for events, group trips, company celebrations and team activities. Depending on the design, a subtle chest embroidery or a more prominent back or sleeve design can be selected when available for the chosen T-shirt.

Embroidered Club T-Shirts

Club logos, club names and individual names can be combined into one coordinated design. This creates a recognizable and consistent appearance for members.

Custom Team T-Shirts

A shared team logo can be complemented by names, initials, numbers or additional identification depending on the customization options available for the selected T-shirt.

Corporate T-Shirts With Logo

Embroidered T-shirts are suitable for employees in retail, customer service, hospitality, beauty, reception, events and many other customer-facing environments.

T-Shirts for Events

Event names, logos, campaigns and short slogans can be used to visually connect participants and create a consistent appearance.

Personalized T-Shirts as Gifts

A name, monogram, date or personal design can turn a T-shirt into a unique gift for birthdays, families, friends and special occasions.

Individual Pieces and Reorders

Custom T-shirt embroidery is available for individual pieces as well as larger orders. Existing teams can therefore be expanded without necessarily placing another large order.

Get a T-Shirt Embroidered With a Name

A T-shirt embroidered with a name is a simple way to create personalized clothing. Short names, initials and monograms often work particularly well on the chest or sleeve. Depending on the selected T-shirt, a larger back area may also be suitable for team names or larger lettering.

Small lettering requires particular attention during embroidery preparation. Very thin lines or tightly spaced characters can lose clarity when embroidered. Our embroidery specialists therefore review the design and consider factors such as font, letter height, stroke width and available space.

Which Texts Work Well for T-Shirt Embroidery?

  • First and last names
  • Initials and monograms
  • Company and brand names
  • Departments and job titles
  • Short team and club names
  • Short personal lettering
  • Dates and special occasions

Practical tip: For embroidered lettering, maximum size is not the most important factor. Sufficient letter height, clear shapes and adequate spacing help ensure that names and text remain readable on the finished T-shirt.

Design T-Shirts Online With Your Logo, Text or Custom Artwork

With the online configurator for embroidered T-shirts, you can select a T-shirt and create your individual design. Depending on the selected product, different colors, sizes and embroidery positions are available.

You can enter your own text, choose an embroidery font or upload your company logo, club logo or custom artwork. The preview helps you assess the general arrangement of your design on the selected T-shirt before placing your order.

Upload Your Company Logo

Your logo can form the basis of professional company clothing, branded apparel or teamwear. After uploading via “Upload logo”, the artwork is prepared for further technical review.

Add Names and Job Titles

Combine the shared company or club logo with individual employee names, functions or departments. This creates a consistent design with personal identification.

Create Your Own Text

Short words, names and lettering can be created directly in the configurator. Depending on the available options, font, size and thread color can be selected to match the T-shirt.

Use Your Own Artwork

Individual graphics and designs can also be used as the basis for embroidery. Before production, the artwork is reviewed for suitability for the selected embroidery area.

Select an Embroidery Position

Depending on the selected T-shirt, available positions may include the chest, sleeve or back. The available options are shown directly in the configurator.

Order One Piece or a Complete Team Set

Custom T-shirt embroidery works equally well for a single personalized garment and larger company, club or team orders.

Your logo: upload, digitising, approval — before you order

Depending on the current configurator, formats such as AI, EPS, SVG, JPG and PNG may be used as the basis for your design. Uploaded artwork is initially used for the visual representation and further preparation of the design.

A graphic or vector file is not automatically a finished machine embroidery file. Before production, the artwork must be converted into a technically suitable stitch program. This includes defining stitch types, stitch directions, underlay, stitch density and color sequence according to the design, size, position and selected T-shirt.

Manual Design Review Before Production

Every new design is reviewed by an experienced embroidery specialist before production. Among other things, we check:

  • Does the design fit the selected embroidery position?
  • Are letters and fine lines large enough?
  • Will internal spaces remain clearly visible after embroidery?
  • Is there sufficient distance from seams, collars and edges?
  • Is the stitch density suitable for the selected textile?
  • Does the thread color provide sufficient contrast against the T-shirt?

If a clearly visible adjustment is required, the further implementation can be coordinated before production.

From Digital Design to Finished T-Shirt Embroidery

The online preview shows the basic visual arrangement of your customized T-shirt. Your design is then technically prepared for machine embroidery. Individual details may need to be adapted to the properties of the thread, textile and available embroidery area.

Our principle: The visible design forms the basis for the finished embroidery. Technical adjustments are made to reproduce that design cleanly and appropriately on the textile.

Order Multiple T-Shirts With One Logo and Different Names

If you are ordering T-shirts for employees, club members or a team, you can combine the same basic design with different names, sizes or functions. Each personalized version can be configured individually and added to the shopping cart.

  1. Design the first T-shirt: Select T-shirt, color, size, embroidery position and artwork.
  2. Add personalization: Add logo, name, function or additional text.
  3. Add to cart: Add the fully configured version to your shopping cart.
  4. Create the next version: Return to the configurator and change the name, size or other individual details.
  5. Check the order: Review all sizes, names, designs, positions and quantities before completing the order.

One Shared Design, Individually Personalized T-Shirts

The main company or club logo can remain identical across the entire order. Names, functions, sizes and other personal details can be customized individually. This creates a professional overall appearance without sacrificing personal identification.

Also useful for future additions: New employees or team members can be added later with an individual T-shirt, provided the product, design and embroidery file remain compatible.

Save Your Embroidery File for Future T-Shirt Orders

Once a company or club logo has been professionally digitized, the resulting machine embroidery file can be retained for future orders. This can make repeat orders easier and help maintain a consistent appearance across different orders.

However, an embroidery file is not automatically suitable for every textile and every size. If the T-shirt model, material, embroidery position or design size changes significantly, the file should be technically reviewed and adjusted where necessary.

Have an Existing Embroidery File Checked

Already have a machine embroidery file? Due to our quality standards, existing embroidery files are not used without review. They can be submitted for technical checking so we can assess whether stitch structure, size, position and material compatibility are suitable for the desired T-shirt.

If the file passes the review, the approved embroidery file may be retained for future orders where the relevant requirements are met.

Embroidered T-Shirts for Companies, Hospitality, Beauty and Clubs

Custom embroidered T-shirts can be used in a wide range of professional and personal settings. They are particularly useful wherever employees, teams or club members need a coordinated appearance combined with individual identification.

Company T-Shirts With Logo

An embroidered company logo creates a consistent corporate appearance for sales teams, customer service, reception areas and events.

Embroidered T-Shirts for Beauty and Cosmetics

Hair salons, beauty studios, nail salons and wellness businesses can combine their logo with employee names or job functions to create a professional team appearance.

Custom T-Shirts for Practices and Service Businesses

A shared company logo can be complemented by names or functions, helping customers or clients identify individual team members more easily.

Embroidered T-Shirts for Hospitality

Customized T-shirts can be used for service teams, cafés, breakfast teams, hotel staff, events and other areas where a coordinated appearance is important.

Club and Team T-Shirts

Club logos, team names and individual names can be combined into one design. Additional members can be added later where the same embroidery setup remains suitable.

Personalized T-Shirts as Gifts

A personal name, monogram or short message can turn an ordinary T-shirt into a unique individual gift for many different occasions.

Which Designs Are Suitable for T-Shirt Embroidery?

Many different designs can be embroidered on T-shirts. Particularly suitable are clear logos, names, initials, monograms, lettering and compact graphic designs. The suitability of a design depends not only on the original artwork but also on its intended size and position.

Very fine lines, extremely small lettering, narrow spaces and complex color gradients can present additional challenges during embroidery. In such cases, technical adjustments or simplification may be necessary to keep the design clear and recognizable on the finished T-shirt.

Design TypeTypical PositionImportant Consideration
Company LogoChestClear contours and balanced proportions
Employee NameChest or sleeveReadable font and sufficient letter height
Initials or MonogramChest or sleeveClear letter shapes and sufficient contrast
Club LogoChest, back or sleeveDesign size and level of detail must suit the area
Team or Company NameChest or backShort lines and sufficient spacing
Detailed ArtworkLarger available embroidery areaFine details may require technical adaptation

Practical tip: When combining a logo, name and job title on one T-shirt, one element should provide the main visual focus. A clear hierarchy generally looks more professional than several equally prominent elements.

When Is Embroidery Better Than T-Shirt Printing?

Embroidery is particularly suitable for logos, names, initials, monograms, lettering and compact designs. The thread creates a tactile textile surface and gives the garment a distinctive embroidered finish.

Very large solid color areas, photographs, gradients or extremely detailed artwork may be better suited to an appropriate printing method. The best solution always depends on the artwork, desired visual effect, T-shirt and available area.

Get High-Quality T-Shirts Custom Embroidered

At Stickerei.com, the focus is on professional individual textile customization. Instead of simply transferring artwork automatically to the garment, the embroidery setup is prepared according to the selected T-shirt and design. This includes stitch types, stitch direction, underlay, stitch density, design size and color sequence.

This approach allows the embroidery to be technically adapted to the textile and intended position. Consistent implementation is particularly important for company and club clothing where several T-shirts should form a coherent overall appearance.

Important Considerations for Matching Team Orders

For the most consistent appearance possible, the same basic conditions should ideally be maintained across multiple T-shirts: T-shirt model, color, embroidery position, design size and thread colors. If different textiles or significantly different design sizes are used, another technical review may be necessary.

Embroidery Specialists Since 1998 – Experience Behind Every Design

We have been working as an embroidery specialist since 1998, with our expertise now continuing into the second generation. This experience contributes to the digitization, textile assessment, design positioning and quality control of our embroidery orders.

Every new design is manually reviewed by an experienced embroidery specialist before production. The purpose is not to unnecessarily change your design, but to identify potential technical issues early and create the right conditions for a clean embroidery result.

Manual Digitization of New Designs

Your logo or artwork is converted into a technically suitable stitch program. The properties of the design and selected T-shirt are taken into account during preparation.

Review Before the First Stitch

We check design size, readability, spacing, thread colors and technical feasibility before production begins.

Years of Embroidery Experience

Our experience in textile embroidery supports the professional assessment of different designs, materials and embroidery positions.

Quality Control

Order details, embroidery files, positioning and finished products are checked throughout the production process.

Personal Contact

For special requirements concerning logos, designs, positioning or orders, you can contact your personal representative or the responsible specialist department.

Embroidery File for Reorders

An embroidery file created for your logo can be retained for future orders. Before reuse, we check whether it remains suitable for the selected T-shirt.

How to Care for an Embroidered T-Shirt

Proper care helps keep both the T-shirt and embroidery looking attractive for as long as possible. Exact care instructions vary depending on the selected T-shirt and material. The care label attached to the individual garment should therefore always be followed.

General Care Tips for Embroidered T-Shirts

  • Check the garment's care label before the first wash.
  • Turn the embroidered T-shirt inside out before washing where possible.
  • Wash similar colors together.
  • Use the washing temperature specified on the care label.
  • Avoid unsuitable bleaching agents.
  • Minimize unnecessary friction against the embroidery.
  • Do not iron directly over the embroidered design.
  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions for drying and ironing.

Care tip: Avoid applying high direct heat to the embroidery when ironing. Always follow the specific care instructions for the selected T-shirt.

Important care information: The instructions on the care label of the actual T-shirt supplied take precedence over general care recommendations.

Processing and Delivery of Your Embroidered T-Shirts

Once your order has been received, the customized design is prepared for production. Processing and delivery times depend on factors such as the selected T-shirt, order quantity, design requirements and delivery address. The applicable information is shown during the ordering process.

Larger team orders, individual design requirements or technical questions may require additional processing time. This allows specific requirements to be clarified before production where necessary.

Quick Checklist Before Ordering

  • Have you selected the correct T-shirt, color and sizes?
  • Are all names, functions and texts spelled correctly?
  • Is your logo or artwork uploaded correctly?
  • Does the selected embroidery position fit the design?
  • Do the thread and T-shirt colors provide the desired contrast?
  • Have all personalized T-shirt versions been added to the cart?
  • Is the delivery address complete and correct?

Embroidery know-how

Why your design is checked before production

An uploaded graphic is not yet a production-ready embroidery file. For a logo to be embroidered cleanly, areas, outlines and lettering have to be translated into suitable stitch types, stitch directions and stitch sequences.

A properly made embroidery file

  • Design and textile are assessed together
  • Running, satin and fill stitches to suit the design
  • Stitch density to suit material and design size
  • Check of small lettering and fine details
  • Optimised stitch direction, underlay and overlaps

Very small lettering, fine lines, narrow gaps, gradients or very detailed logos need an expert assessment. The thickness and stretch of the textile also affect how the design is executed. We embroider letters from 5 mm high — below that, lettering is no longer legible.

The aim is not to produce as many stitches as possible. What matters is a clean result, good legibility, suitable stabilisation and a design that works on the chosen textile for a long time.

If our check shows that your design will not come out cleanly or that printing would be the better choice, we get in touch — before production, not afterwards. We tell you before we embroider.
