The 50 × 100 cm format is designed for versatile bathroom use. It works well for drying hands, face and hair and as a personal towel in hotels, gyms and salons. Compared with a shower towel, it is easier to change regularly, needs less storage space and is simpler to keep available in larger quantities.

Hand towel, shower towel or bath sheet?

The 50 × 100 cm hand towel is particularly suitable for hands, face and hair. A 67 × 140 cm shower towel provides more surface for drying the body, while a 100 × 150 cm bath sheet can also be used for wrapping up and lying down.

If you need a versatile towel for the washbasin, guest room, salon or practice, 50 × 100 cm is the practical, space-saving size. The larger formats may be more suitable for showers, saunas and pools.

580 gsm Supersoft cotton for a soft, substantial handle

The gsm value describes the weight of one square metre of fabric rather than the total weight of the finished hand towel. At 580 gsm, Vegan Life has a dense terry construction with noticeable volume. Its loops increase the textile surface available to absorb moisture when drying.

What the fabric weight means in everyday use

A higher fabric weight can create a softer, more substantial handle and increased volume. Dense hand towels also need more space in the washing machine and during drying than lightweight terry. The size of the load and the chosen drying method therefore affect how freely the loops can rise again afterwards.

Important: Fabric weight alone does not determine absorbency, softness or service life. Cotton quality, loop construction, manufacturing and appropriate care also play an important role.

100% Supersoft cotton

The cotton gives the hand towel its natural, soft handle. Its deep-pile surface feels pleasant against the skin and provides a suitable base for names, monograms and professionally prepared logos.

Terry loops can be pulled by zips, hooks or rough hook-and-loop fasteners. The hand towel should therefore not be washed with garments containing these types of closure where possible.

AIRpillow technology for volume and absorbency

AIRpillow technology allows the terry loops to stand upright, forming fine air pockets between them. This creates the hand towel’s substantial, soft surface and provides a large textile area for absorbing moisture.

Care tip: Avoid fabric conditioner during the first washes where possible. It can coat the cotton fibres and reduce the absorbency of the terry fabric.

Position the embroidery above the woven border

The embroidery is placed centrally near the bottom, above the woven border. This keeps the border visible and gives the design a clearly defined position. A maximum embroidery area of 220 × 220 mm is available.

The embroidery area describes the technically available space rather than the recommended size for every design. A short name or monogram will often look more balanced without filling the complete area. For company logos, the appropriate dimensions depend on the shape, level of detail and required visibility.

Which design size suits the hand towel?

A single name or monogram will usually require considerably less than the maximum available area. Company logos can be prepared at a larger size, provided their lettering, outlines and internal spaces remain recognisable on terry.

From our embroidery experience: A balanced design leaves sufficient space at the sides and above the woven border. The complete 220 × 220 mm embroidery area does not need to be filled.

What matters when embroidering deep-pile terry

Terry fabric consists of numerous raised loops. Small gaps, thin lines and very fine lettering can visually recede into the pile. A design for terry must therefore be prepared differently from the same artwork intended for a smooth T-shirt or firm bag fabric.

Underlay and stitch density adapted to the terry surface

During digitising, stitch types, stitch directions, underlay and density are adapted to the artwork and deep-pile base. Suitable underlay helps control the terry loops beneath the design and allows visible outlines to be constructed more clearly.

Stitch density is selected to provide suitable coverage without placing unnecessary strain on the hand towel. Thread direction also affects whether individual areas appear smooth, dimensional or clearly defined.

Design tip: A clear name, monogram or simplified logo will usually have more impact on soft terry than artwork containing many tiny individual details.

Your logo: upload, digitising, approval — before you order

The logo upload accepts AI, EPS and SVG files, as well as clear, high-resolution JPG and PNG files. The customiser display is a preview only and not the finished machine embroidery file.

Beforehand, as a separate logo order, every logo or design is manually digitised by an experienced embroidery specialist — within 24 hours. Stitch types, stitch directions, underlay, density and colour sequence are selected to suit the artwork, dimensions, position and terry fabric.

How your embroidery design is positioned on the hand towel

Your name, monogram or logo is aligned within the available area above the woven border. Before production, an embroidery specialist checks the placement and, where necessary, makes small technical corrections to achieve a clean embroidered result.

Ordering several hand towels with different names

You can combine the same towel colour and embroidery typeface with different names. Each name variation is created separately in the customiser and added to the basket as an individual item.

1. Create the first version: Select the colour, name, embroidery typeface, thread colour and position.
2. Add it to the basket: The completed hand towel is added as an individual item.
3. Create the next name: Return to the customiser and prepare the next personalised version.
4. Repeat the process: Add each additional personalised hand towel to the basket separately.
5. Check the order: Before checkout, confirm that all names, colours, quantities and versions are included.

Creating, checking and reusing an embroidery file

An image file contains colours and outlines but does not provide the complete instructions required by an embroidery machine. Manual digitising defines how each area, line and character is constructed in thread. This process creates the production-ready embroidery file.

Having an existing machine embroidery file assessed

Because of our quality standards, we cannot use an existing machine embroidery file without checking it first. You can send the file by email for technical assessment. As its stitch construction, size, fabric suitability and position must be considered individually, the review may take several days. You will receive the outcome by email.

If you already have a stickerei.com customer account and the file passes the assessment, we can store the approved embroidery file in your account for future use.

Can the same embroidery file be used on other textiles?

That depends on the material, design dimensions and embroidery position. A file created for smooth fabric may require different underlay or stitch density on deep-pile terry. A substantial change in design size may also require technical adjustment.

If you later want to use the same logo on a guest towel, shower towel, bath sheet, bathrobe or item of clothing, we assess the existing file and adapt it to the selected product where necessary.

Choose thread colours for your hand towel

How to wash and dry a VOSSEN hand towel

According to the product information, the Vegan Life hand towel is machine washable at up to 60°C and suitable for tumble drying. For normally soiled towels, the manufacturer recommends lower washing temperatures for environmental reasons. The instructions on the care label of the delivered product remain decisive.

Care instructions for cotton terry and embroidery

• Wash new hand towels before their first use.
• Separate white, pale and strongly coloured textiles.
• Wash the hand towel with similar colours.
• Avoid fabric conditioner during the first ten washes where possible.
• Use little or no fabric conditioner afterwards, as it can reduce absorbency.
• Do not underload or overload the washing machine.
• Avoid washing the towel with hooks, open zips or rough hook-and-loop fasteners.
• Reshape the towel while it is still slightly damp.
• Do not use an unnecessarily high tumble-dryer temperature.
• Do not apply a hot iron directly to the front of the embroidery.

What should you do about lint or pulled terry loops?

Some linting is normal with new, deep-pile cotton terry. Loading the washing machine correctly helps avoid unnecessary friction against the drum. According to the manufacturer, AIRpillow technology significantly reduces linting compared with conventional towels.

A pulled loop can be carefully trimmed level with the surrounding surface. Do not pull it further. To prevent additional snags, avoid washing the hand towel with sharp fasteners or rough surfaces.

Processing, quality control and delivery times

Delivery to Austria and Germany usually takes 2–3 working days from payment. This period includes completion of the embroidered hand towel. The specific delivery estimate is displayed during the ordering process.
